The North Canton City School District recently participated in a workshop designed to improve the way that discussions about math are held in the classroom.
Eight NCCS teachers attended the workshop on Tuesday where instruction focused on ways to facilitate math discussions in the classroom.
Teachers learned ways to help students talk about math at deep levels and to solve a problem in a variety of ways.
The instructor, from North Carolina, explained different approaches teachers can build collaboration and conversation into K-12 math classrooms.
Officials say the activities presented were designed to be successful for all students so that each child is able to learn at his or her appropriate level.
