New Philadelphia City School District to Host Senior Citizens Event

The New Philadelphia Quakers are gearing up for a special event designed to recognized city residents 65 years of age or older.

The school district is hosting a night of dinner and theatre on Thursday, February 22nd.

Dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the show following at 6:00 p.m.

The Welty Middle School Musical presentation will be “Beauty and the Beast” directed by Christa Roberts.

School officials say the classic story tells of Belle (Lainey Sefert), a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast (Tyler Maddux), who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress.

As we all know of this classic fairytale, if the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will be broken, and he will be transformed into his former self.

Tickets can be obtained by calling the district switchboard, 330-364-0600, and speaking with Mary Knepper. Tickets will be mailed to your home.

Officials note seating I limited to the first 125 callers.

The event is free to any New Philadelphia City School District resident 65-years or older.
