Officials are seeking the public’s input on special education funds

(Plain Township, Ohio) – A Stark County organization is looking to the public for input on how to spend dollars designated for special education programs.

The Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities recently expressed interest in public feedback regarding the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP) for the board’s fiscal year 2019.

The CCIP lays out the usage of funds for special education programs that run under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA). The programs are for preschool and school-aged students.

On December 28th board officials will hold a public hearing at 5:45 p.m. in the Cohen Room of Whipple-Dale Centre, 2950 Whipple Avenue Northwest. Anyone interested in learning more and/or providing input is invited to attend. Officials will discuss the plan on how to use the federal dollars.
