Ohio school closures extended to May 1st

(Ohio) – K-12 schools will remain closed through May 1st in Ohio.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine made the order during his daily 2:00 COVID-19 press conference on Monday, March 30th.

Schools in the state had been on a three-week break until April 3rd per a directive made back on March 12th.

“There is the real possibility that our schools could stay closed longer than this, but we want to give parents and teachers as much notice and flexibility as we can,” DeWine said. “Schools should continue to do what they’re doing now — providing the best remote learning that they can, serving meals to students in new ways, and planning for what the rest of the year may look like.”

DeWine indicated plans to continue to reevaluate as that date approaches.
