(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The Tuscarawas County Council for Church and Community is offering financial help for those directly affected by COVID-19.
T4C has received additional funding to aid in providing assistance to families facing challenges such as partial rend and/or utility payments. “An eviction or shut-off notice is not required as long as the need is verifiable being related to the virus,” explained Executive Director, Louise Worsham. This can include a variety of situations such as being laid off, quarantined, a delay in unemployment, etc.
Worsham indicated each instance is looked at on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, T4C can only provide assistance with rent or one utility (heat or electric) once in a 24-month period. The organization also has funding available for some baby products. “Diapers, formula, or some other types of necessities for infants/toddlers,” Worsham explained. For more information on receiving help in this area, individuals are encouraged to contact Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services.
Additionally, vouchers are available to help individuals making $12 or less per hour with gasoline for their vehicles. This assistance is only available to individuals working and a valid drivers’ license and most recent pay stub are required. This assistance can be received once every 12 months on an emergency basis. Currently, this resource has also been extended to those returning to work after a COVID-19 related layoff.
