Safe & Successful Swim Days

Headed to the pool, lake, or ocean this summer? Keep your family happy and well with these water safety tips!

This informational campaign comes to you in partnership with the Stark County Community Action Agency.

With summer just around the corner, it’s time to start planning some water-filled adventures for your kids. Wherever you’re headed, it’s important to prioritize water safety. Follow these rules when it comes to wet and wild outings!

  • You and the trusted adults in your circle should be constantly supervising kids as they play. Even the most advanced swimmers can be caught in an under current or slip and fall into a pool.
  • Don’t buy your kids BLUE bathing suits! Neon swimsuits- especially yellow, orange, and pink- stand out brightest underneath the water.
  • Educate your child on water safety and swimming techniques. It’s important to have strong, confident swimmers.
  • Stay hydrated, remember to bring AND apply sunscreen, and take breaks throughout the day.
  • Learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Your CPR skills could save someone’s life.

Follow these guidelines & you will be on your way to giving your kids a safe and enjoyable summer by the water!
