Second GlenOak Student Passes Away Following Crash Last Week

Tragedy strikes again in the Plain Township community after the loss of a second GlenOak High School student.

18-year-old Aaron Laudermilt passed away shortly after a crash on Thursday on Middlebranch Road in Plain Township. His passenger and 16-year-old brother, Kevin, was in critical condition before passing away over the weekend.

According to the Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Aaron was traveling north on Middlebranch Avenue NE just before 3:00 p.m.

Crash investigators believe speed played a factor in what caused the car to travel off the roadway, crash into a utility pole and then a tree before overturning.

On Friday the GlenOak and Hoover High School basketball teams observed a moment of silence for the brothers.

Following the passing of Kevin, the Plain Local School District took to Facebook to note appreciation for the outpouring of support and prayers.

Officials note in the post, “As our community mourns these tragic deaths we ask that you rally together to support our staff, students, and the Laudermilt family.”

Grief counselors are expected to be made available at GlenOak High School to anyone who may need to talk.

A gofundme account has also been set up to assist the family with funeral expenses.
