A Stark County teen is facing a felony charge after a high school prank sent the school on lockdown.
18-year-old Eloy Lopes was arrested Friday, May 11th by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office on charges of complicity to inducing panic, second-degree Felony, and criminal aggravated trespass. He may face up to eight years in prison and a $15,000 fine if convicted of the complicity charge alone.
According to reports, Lopes, who is not a current student, was believed to be trespassing when he held the door open to allow a GlenOak High School student to exit the building after riding a motor cross bike down the hallway.
GlenOak High School was placed on lockdown during the incident.
Another 18-year-old, a student at GlenOak, is facing misdemeanor charges for holding a door open to allow a juvenile student to drive the bike into the building. As of Saturday morning, Lopes remained in the Stark County Jail on $50,250 bond.
