Stark State and area high school students are getting an opportunity to showcase their scholastic abilities, technical skills, and training during a symposium this weekend.
On Saturday, April 21st Stark State College will host the student symposium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Business and Entrepreneurial Center, M100, on the campus located at 6200 Frank Avenue. NW in Jackson Township.
Officials note the symposium will include research projects, theatrical and musical performances, essay readings, speeches, poetry, videos and student club demonstrations.
John West, trustee, professor and interim director of the Liquid Crystal Institute of Kent State University and director of the Institute for Smart Liquid Crystals, Changshu, China will be the keynote speaker.
The Jackson High School Seven-thirty Big Band will also perform. Hors-d’oeuvres will and refreshments will be prepared and served by the culinary students.
