A 16-year-old student could face charges after allegedly making a threat against New Philadelphia High School and Welty Middle School.
The threat found on a bathroom stall initiated a lockdown at both buildings.
New Philadelphia Police Captain Detective, Shawn Nelson confirmed they identified the teen and spoke with her on Friday.
The student reportedly did not indicate motive but explained to authorities she never intended to follow through with the threat.
Investigators plan to meet with the Tuscarawas County Prosecutor’s Office to determine appropriate charges.
The student is not permitted to return to school until school administrators speak with her.
