Teens Arrested in Threats Against Claymont City Schools.

A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl are facing charges in two separate cases in which threats were made against the Claymont City School district.

The Uhrichsville Police Department issued a press release on Thursday, February 22nd, that confirmed the arrests following threats of violence targeting the Claymont High School and Claymont Middle School.

A 16-year-old girl who attends the High School was charged with Making a False Alarm for allegedly telling administrators that a fellow classmate intended to commit an act of violence against the school.

A 14-year-old boy is charged with Making a False Alarm for allegedly posting a video on social media of himself declaring that he had intentions of committing an act of school violence.

Police say both teens were located on Wednesday evening and placed in the Tuscarawas County Juvenile Attention Center pending their initial court appearance in Juvenile Court.

Officials add, as of Thursday, February 22nd, there was no other active and/or credible threat investigations involving violence against the Claymont City School district.
