A dog takes a lot of time and commitment. Before welcoming Fido into your home to introduce to the family, there should be discussions and a plan set forth for the care of your new addition.
A new puppy will need fed approximately 3 times a day. Who will be responsible for feeding and watering? There is also the chore of taking the puppy outside to use the bathroom. Who will do that and who will clean up the accidents?
What vet will you use? Will you need a dog license?

Most parents will go for the puppy. After all, they are so cute and there is something to say about raising a dog with your family. Many families have done so and we all have that friend that has the family dog that is so loveable and obedient.
Before you decide upon a puppy, parents let me warn you. Puppies are curious little creatures and will get into things and chew things that are beyond your imagination. The best advice I can give is prior to introducing a puppy to your home and your family, prepare diligently for your new furry friend.
According to petMD, you will spend nearly $1400 in the first year of owning your new puppy. Below is a list of items I would recommend to get prior to bringing your new canine companion home.
• An appropriately sized crate
• Dog chew toys
• Leash and collar
• Puppy food and bowls
• Puppy pads
• An enzyme cleaner
You will certainly enjoy watching your puppy grow and learn new things. Although there can be challenges along the way, your puppy will fall in love with you and you will have a faithful furry companion that will blend into your life like you never thought possible. Dogs love unconditionally and we as humans have a lot to learn from them.
