If your family is about to grow, you may feel the itch to get away and spend a little time with your significant other. This is known as a babymoon.
From Bump to Baby is brought to you by The Pregnancy & Parenting Center
Picture this… You’ve spent the last six or seven months growing a human and you could really use a little getaway. You don’t want to go far- baby will be here soon, after all- but you definitely need a change of scenery. Perhaps it’s time to consider a babymoon.
“A babymoon refers to a vacation or getaway that couples take before the birth of their baby. Just like a honeymoon, it’s a chance for you to celebrate, unwind, and connect with each other before you embark on the exciting journey of parenthood.” (Source)
My best friend is pregnant right now, but she’s also mom to a spunky 2 year old. Their up-coming babymoon includes their daughter. They’ll be spending a long weekend at Kalahari Resort! You can plan a whole family getaway or limit your away time to just you and your partner. (If this is your first child, enjoy these last few weeks as a duo!)
Local Babymoon Locations
- Visit The Mohicans and stay in a treehouse
- If you don’t mind all the wine, book a night away at a winery
- Visit Amish Country and check out the cute toy and clothing boutiques
- Book a few relaxing nights in Geneva-on-the-Lake
- Rent a cabin at Hocking Hills
- Get a little wild at The Wilds
- Visit Stars Hollow- I mean Granville, OH
- Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati are always fun and interest cities to visit, too!
As a reminder, don’t engage in anything too strenuous on your trip! Check with your doctor before booking a trip and make sure you bring along important medical paperwork, especially if you’ll be travling in your third trimester. Stay safe, well-nourish, and hydrated!
