The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) will hold it’s annual Christmas in July will take place Friday, July 15th- 17th, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Lake Park. Family Friendly activities are lined up for each day including a must-see Firework Show on Saturday, July 16th over the water.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY ACTIVITIES July 15th – 17th, 2022
Pick up a list of self-directed activities available to help you explore the park on your own during your visit. The Park and Naturalist staff are available to assist with any self-directed activities, questions or programs scheduled each week.

FRIDAY, July 15
12n-6p– Whoa Zone Water Park OPEN at the swim beach area. On the Lake Fun for Everyone. Tickets online. 
6p-8p- Naturalist On Duty: Nature Room OPEN Come feed the animals. Naturalists are available to assist with any questions, self-directed activities or programs scheduled for the week. Watch the Park Orientation / History video at the welcome center. Sign up for crafts & Guided Osprey Tours
9:00-11p- MOVIE at the LAKE— on the BIG Screen. Bring your own chairs and blankets. Call Park Office at 419-938-7884 for movie title and location.
SATURDAY, July 16
9a-11p- Naturalist On Duty: Nature Room OPEN Come feed the animals. Naturalists are available to assist with any questions, self-directed activities or programs scheduled for the week. Watch the Park Orientation / History video at the welcome center. Sign up for crafts & Guided Osprey Tours
9a-4p – Campsite Decorating Contest– Get out those Christmas decorations, show your Christmas spirit, and decorate your campsite. Campsites judging with prizes and awards for the top three campsites. Have sites ready by 7 pm on Saturday for judging. Winners will be announced at 9pm at the fireworks show.
10a -LIVE Birds of Prey- LIVE birds of prey presented by the naturalist from Ohio Bird Sanctuary at Welcome Ctr.
11a-1p -Christmas Crafts– Make your custom Santa Scopes (binoculars) and Bigfoot Ornaments. While supplies last. Sign up at the welcome center starting Friday. When completed post a picture of your craft on Facebook & Instagram with the hashtag #PHCraftContest and be a lucky winner in a drawing. A limited number of kits first come first serve. See the naturalist at the welcome center area for details. SPONSORED by Home Depot of Ashland.
1a-3p– Scavenger Hunt and Nature Activities- See the naturalist staff for self-directed activities, and things to see and do on your own during your visit to our Bird Observation Window, Fish Mural, Pollinator Gardens & History Exhibits.
12n-6p– Whoa Zone Water Park OPEN at the swim beach area. On the Lake Fun for Everyone. Tickets online.
11a-8p –Food Concessions/Food Trucks OPEN– Hot food, cold drinks, Ice Cream, and more. Stop by the food trailer located at the beach area and the marina.
3p-6p – LIVE MUSIC at the DECK- Live Entertainment by Captain Kurt performing at the welcome center deck. DJ on the Lake at 6pm at swim beach area.
5:00p – Santa Arrives– – Santa will be arriving by Jet Ski with Santa’s Elves passing out treats at the swim beach. 
6p-9p – DJ on the Lake– – A floating 360-degree sound stage will be in the lake taking song requests via Facebook messenger. Look for the signs for details. Located just off the swim beach area.
6:30p-Whoa Zone Christmas Dash Race- – Register at the Whoa zone website to participate and win gift certificates, coupons, merchandise & prizes for the fastest obstacle course times. All age groups. Only $5 registration fees.
At Dusk – FIREWORKS!!!
Christmas-themed music synced with fireworks at the beach. NEW this year fireworks will be remotely launched from a floating platform just off the swim beach area. Great views from the beach and by boat.

Responsible stewards dedicated to providing the benefits of flood reduction, conservation and recreation in the Muskingum River Watershed. The MWCD is the largest conservancy district in the state and led the effort to construct 14 dams and reservoirs. The MWCD has jurisdiction for its operations in all or portions of an 18-county area. The 18 counties wholly or partially contained in the MWCD jurisdiction are Ashland, Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Holmes, Harrison, Knox, Licking, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Richland, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Wayne, and Washington.
