(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The weather in the Tuscarawas Valley has already been very warm, which can be a concern for some people.
In fact, it can be life-threatening, according to officials with the HARCATUS program. From July 1 st until September 30th the HEAP Summer Cooling Program for low-income
households may help be able with your electric bill, or to have service restored. Some
households may receive a room air conditioner, a fan, or repairs to a central air conditioner.
Only income-eligible households will be able to apply for assistance. Eligibility guidelines and documentation have changed and may cause delays in processing.
Ohioans can visit energyhelp.ohio.gov to start their application prior to their required
appointment. HARCATUS will continue, until further notice, to provide assistance through telephone interviews and no-contact methods of furnishing necessary documentation.
Beginning June 22nd, for more information or to schedule a telephone appointment, please call the HARCATUS Family Support Toll Free Crisis Line at 1-855-806-9650.
