Tuscarawas County Health Department Offers Sports Physicals

(Dover, Ohio) – Parents and caregivers of local school athletes are invited to make an appointment to participate in the Tuscarawas County Health Department’s special days for Sports Physicals.

Physicals will be held from 8 am to 3:30 pm on Thursdays, June 10th, July 22nd, and August 19th. During these special days, sports physicals will be provided for $30, payable by cash, check, debit, or credit card. Appointments can be made by calling 330-343-5555, extension 174, or 181.

During the sports physical days, back-to-school immunizations will also be offered at an additional charge. Immunization fees will be billed to medical insurance or be charged a $21 administration fee per vaccine for those who are income-eligible. Those who would like to bill their insurance for sports physicals may call to schedule a sports physical on an alternate date.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, all health department patients will be screened for symptoms and be asked to wear a mask. Those who are sick will be asked to reschedule their appointment and stay home. Also, to avoid unnecessary crowding in waiting areas, it is asked that only one parent or guardian attend the sports physical appointment with the athlete.

“Our Medical Clinic Services team is looking forward to helping local athletes get their required physicals so that they can safely participate in school sports events,” noted Angie Frantz of the Tuscarawas County Health Department. “We are following safety protocols to protect all of our patients and visitors.”

To participate in the Tuscarawas County Health Department’s special Sports Physical Days, please make an appointment by calling 330-343-5555, ext. 174, or 181.
