(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – A Buckeye Career Center student has qualified for the 2021 SkillsUSA National Championships, to be held virtually June 14-18, 2021.
BCC Outdoor Power Equipment Technology senior Cole Hockenberry achieved gold in the state Motorcycle contest, qualifying him for the SkillsUSA national competition. Hockenberry’s was required to take a written test, conduct measurements, complete a technical assessment, and troubleshoot electrical issues.
Other students placing in the state competition include Ryan Crawford (Ag. & Diesel/Ridgewood) winning silver in Diesel Equipment Technology, Logan Wallace (Electrical Systems Technology/New Philadephia) winning bronze in Industrial Motor Control, Payton Curley (Masonry/Dover) winning bronze in Masonry, and Bryan McClure (Electrical Systems Technology/Tuscarawas Valley) winning silver in Electrical Construction Wiring.
