Tusky YMCA’s Penny War is On!

The Tuscarawas County YMCA will hold it’s 2nd annual Penny War for one week only, from May 9th-14th to help the Y’s annual campaign.

For those who haven’t participated in a penny war before: Pennies and paper money count as positive points, while silver coins count as negative points. Put your pennies and bills in the jug of your favorite department (and your silver coins in the department you don’t want to win). The department whose jug has the most points at the end of the week will be declared the winner. A table will be set up in the main lobby of the Y with collection jugs representing Aquatics, Fitness, Member Services, Sports/Gymnastics and Childcare.

“Last year we held our first penny war at the Y and, thanks to the generosity of our members, were able to raise $1,353.94 for our annual campaign,” said Jenny Dallas, Executive Assistant.

The annual campaign provides direct financial assistance to Tuscarawas County youth and families for YMCA memberships, swim lessons, preschool, afterschool, daycamp, youth sports and more.
