A local YMCA branch is inviting the public to a free Safety Around Water program to qualifying individuals.
Through a Y-USA grant, the Towpath Trail YMCA in Navarre is offering the free program where scholarships will be available to children ages 4-14 in western Stark County. 50 scholarships in total will be granted for the program., 25 during each session.
Officials explain that the program focuses on the essential skills for water safety and aims to reduce the risk of drowning. Each of the eight lessons is 40 minutes in length and cover multiple skills.
Sessions will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. July 2nd – July 12th and from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from July 16th through July 26th.
