2023 Tuscarawas County Summer Camp Guide

Manufacturing Camp Tuscarawas County-

Open to Incoming 7th and 8th Graders in Tuscarawas County!
  • Explore high-tech manufacturing facilities, right here in Tuscarawas County.

  • Students will discover the technology and innovation of manufacturing through presentations from local experts and tours of manufacturing facilities in the area.
  • Take advantage of this one-of-a-kind educational experience that inspires students to envision their future careers in the Tuscarawas Valley!

Enrollment begins March 1st for current students and March 6 for new students. Camp is for students who finished kindergarten through fifth grade.
Join us for 8 weeks of summer fun at the Salvation Army Learning Zone summer day camp starting June 12- August 11 (with a break the week of July 4 for middle school camp.) Sign up for all or just one!
Camp runs Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm. Before and after extended care for an additional charge from 6:30am to 5:30pm is available. Cost for camp is $75/week and extended care is an additional $75.
Camp includes field trips, daily meals and snacks, games and activities and plenty of old school summer fun in a safe and engaging environment. Campers will be broken into two mini camps-- JR Camp grades K-2 and SR Camp grades 3-5. Spaces are limited!

Summer School Age Day Camp

Campers entering Kindergarten - 8th Grade. Our camps focus on having fun while building self esteem and social skills through activities and new adventures. Weekly themes keep campers engaged and provide a basis for kids to learn about themselves and the world around them.

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Extended Care Available 7:00 AM-9:00 AM and 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
Dates: JUNE 5, 2023- AUGUST 18, 2023
Price Per Week by Membership Type / $125 (Youth) $145 (Community)

2023 Summer Camp

The TUSCARAWAS PHILHARMONIC MUSIC CAMP is a thoughtfully designed music enrichment program for young musicians. Each day will include fun learning experiences to help make music camp an unforgettable adventure with lasting impact.

This year our music camp will be hosted at both Dover High School and Walsh University on separate weeks of June. String camps are available at either location from 9AM - 12PM, while percussion and chorus camps are only available at Dover High School from 1PM - 4PM.

Art That Moves Us Forward

Adelante Arts Camp is a summer arts program that tells the stories of 6th - 12th grade Latino students through a variety of artistic and cultural forms to celebrate the Latino culture in Tuscarawas County. Local Latino students meet twice a week to learn and hone in on new knowledge and techniques from professional creatives to enhance their artistic experiences and gain confidence in their culture and identity.

Orientation for Students: Friday, June 1, 2023

Arts Camp Dates: Tuesdays & Thursdays June 6 - July 27, 2023

Final Concert Showcase: Thursday, July 27, 2023

2023’s Adelante Arts Camp will work with Off the Wall Music and its instructors to teach the elements of playing guitar and writing music. Students with learn about playing the guitar, rhythm, melody, and writing songs during the workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays, then share their work at a final concert showcase on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at The Branch Church in New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Summer Art Camp

The Jennifer Hunt Memorial Scholarship is available for students with financial need.

Summer Art Camp. July 2023 dates: July 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20

 

New classes will be posted April by 15, 2023  Students may sign up for a morning session OR an afternoon session OR for both morning and afternoon.

 

If they sign up for both they should bring a brown bag lunch. Total cost is $30 for either a morning or afternoon session OR $50 if they sign up for both morning and afternoon!

Kid's Camp

DETAILS...

  • Registration Fee: $125 per child — $10 discount for the week for more than 1 child

  • Registration fee, registration form and liability release are due NO LATER THAN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO START OF CAMP

  • Fee payable by cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, or personal check (payable to Wood’s Tall Timber Resort)

  • Please have prompt drop-off and pick-up times – we have tons of fun scheduled and you don’t want to miss it! 

Things to Send to Camp...

  •   Swimwear & Towel

  •   Sunscreen

  •   Any medications and specific directions for use

  •   Water bottle with child’s name clearly marked

  •   Bag, tote, or backpack with child’s name clearly marked

  •   Appropriate shoes and clothes for outdoor play

  •   Change of clothes if necessary
