6 Quick and Easy Beauty Tips for Busy Moms

As a mom, finding the time to focus on beauty, hygiene, and make-up is a difficult feat. If you’re struggling to find time and energy to invest in beauty, you’re not alone.

I wore make-up every day and washed my face twice daily before I became a mom. After having my daughter, I no longer had the energy.

But it doesn’t have to be that way, mamas. Here are some quick and easy beauty tips for busy moms!

  1. At night, wash your face when you have the time and energy. In my experience, I’m exhausted right before bed. I just want to brush my teeth and slip beneath the covers. I’ve now started washing my face when my daughter is getting ready for bed- roughly 2-3 hours before I hit the hay. When bedtime rolls around for me, I can collapse on my pillow with a fresh face.
  2. Take a vitamin that includes Biotin or other hair/nail/skin nutrients. Of course, check with your doctor first before taking anything!
  3. When you have time, find a quick and painless make-up routine that works for you (if you’d like to wear it). I do a primer, foundation, setting powder, eyebrow gel, mascara, and lip gloss. It takes me roughly 5 minutes. Nothing fancy- just tried and true.
  4. Push back your cuticles after a bath or shower. The best time to shape your nails is just after a warm soak in the shower or tub.
  5. Clean your pillowcases. I’ll be honest, I change our pillowcases twice as often as I change our bedsheets.
  6. Wash your make-up tools (brushes, sponges, etc.) and toss old make-up, hair products, and lotions.

As always, get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water, and don’t forget the SPF! It sounds so simple, but you and I know it can be difficult to focus on ourselves when we’re in the trenches of motherhood. By directing a little energy and attention to yourself you can boost your self-esteem and fill your own proverbial cup before you pour into everyone else’s.
