A Corporate Lesson on Inclusion During NDEAM

This year the theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month is “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion.”

Including You is brought to you by the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, or NDEAM. After two extremely turbulent and chaotic years, getting our country and workforce back to full health is essential. This year, the NDEAM is reminding companies and employers of the importance to provide full access to employment and community rebuilding for people with disabilities.

What Can You and Your Company Do During NDEAM?

Now is a great time for employers and employees to focus on inclusion in the workplace. You can:

  • Educate employees and train supervisors
  • Create a display on public bulletin boards or in frequented break areas
  • Review policies with employees and employers
  • Help to establish an employee resource group to connect and receive support
  • Participate in Disability Mentoring Day
