The benefits were undeniable, which is exactly why I raise my family knowing that what you put in and on your body determines how your body functions.
One way we support our immune system is by using essential oils. Not only does using oils mean we are not using toxic chemicals, but if you are using pure & organic essential oils you are also getting the benefits from them.
Lemon
My favorite simple-to-use essential oil is lemon. The brand I use and trust is Young Living because they cold-press their Citrus oils from organic rinds of the fruit. Young Living makes a whole line of oils called Vitality, which are labeled for ingestion, so you can even use a few drops daily in your water and tea.
The high levels of limonene in lemon oil are great to support my body in cleansing out toxins. It has been used for centuries for its high antioxidant properties. Citrus oils, in general, have been researched for their ability to uplift the mood, so I put lemon oil in my diffuser often. It is one of the main oils in my wellness roller bottle that I use diluted on my whole family’s feet every night and more so when we are feeling under the weather.
Oregano
Another go-to of mine is Oregano as a hot oil that is diluted in my wellness blend rolled onto our feet at night. I do use the vitality version and I also use a couple of drops in a capsule that I make myself using the wellness blend.
Thieves
This is a must for immune support. In fact, it was specifically formulated just for that. It’s a blend of clove, cinnamon, lemon, rosemary, and eucalyptus. This one is also in my roller bottle that goes on our feet. It’s also another oil from the Vitality line that I use in a couple of ways. A drop on a teabag before steeping gives tea a comforting chai-like taste. I’ve also put a drop in a teaspoon of honey to soothe our cough and throat irritations.
Frankincense
This one is probably my favorite of all. It has been used for thousands of years for its healing properties. There’s so much research on this oil that I could go on and on. I love it for it’s calming and immune support. I defuse it anytime I need deep relaxation, especially during prayer and meditation. The Vitality version, I also include in y wellness capsule.
Lavender
This is the first oil I ever used. I still use it in the diffuser at bedtime and it’s always in my bath salts. But, a lot of times I just put a drop in my hand and cup my hand over my nose and inhale deeply for a few deep breaths. This brings me a complete feeling of peacefulness. This oil is great for use in diffuser jewelry or to keep in a zen roller bottle for when you’re on the go.
These are just a few things that have worked for my family for years. I am not a doctor, so in no way is anything in this article a diagnosis, treatment, or a cure. But, I am happy to share what works for me and my family. Wishing you all wellness in the days to come.
