A Winter Hike for Outdoor Lovers

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and Tappen Lake are hosting their first annual winter hike!

Enjoying the Outdoors is brought to you in partnership with Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District

This February you can join MWCD staff members and fellow outdoor enthusiasts at Tappan Lake for their first annual winter hike.

Explore hiking trails with a map of suggested routes or join MWCD staff for a guided group hike along the Deer Trail. The Guided Hike will leave the Activity Center at promptly 10:15 am. During the hiking event, warm up in the Activity Center with soups, coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies between 10 am and 1 pm.

The event is free and registration is strongly suggested to help us have enough food for the crowd.

*Be prepared for natural surface hiking trails with moderate to steep inclines by wearing hiking shoes/boots. Bring a bottle of water. In case of snow or ice, the guided group hike may take place on the Beach Trail

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District is responsible stewards dedicated to providing the benefits of flood reduction, conservation, and recreation in the Muskingum River Watershed. The MWCD is the largest conservancy district in the state and led the effort to construct 14 dams and reservoirs. The MWCD has jurisdiction for its operations in all or portions of an 18-county area. The 18 counties wholly or partially contained in the MWCD jurisdiction are Ashland, Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Holmes, Harrison, Knox, Licking, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Richland, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Wayne, and Washington.
