(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – Buckeye Career Center is canceling prom.

BCC staff issued the following public statement regarding the decision to cancel prom scheduled for Saturday, April 4th. Officials note the event will not be rescheduled.

“This decision was made after careful consideration of the health and safety of our students and staff as we comply with Governor DeWine’s recommendation of limiting school gatherings to 50 individuals.

Additionally, in compliance with Governor DeWine’s closure of schools, the earliest that we will resume classes at Buckeye Career Center is April 6th, 2020. Thank you for your understanding and continued support during this uncertain time.”

BCC officials indicted students who purchased tickets will be refunded when normal school operations resume.
