BCC Prepares for Start of Upcoming School Year

(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – A local school district is gearing up for the 2018-2019 school year.

Buckeye Career Center is set to host High School Orientation on August 15th. School officials say ahead of the first day of school, BCC will host the orientation from 12:30 .m. to 7:30 p.m. for all incoming high school students. Students and their families are invited to stop by any time during the time frame.

Class schedules will be distributed and students will be able to get their student identification photos taken, register for a parking permit (a license plate number and $5.00 registration fee is required), pay fees, receive a copy of the dress code ad code of conduct, get login information for student grade information, receive assistance with online student forms and have any questions answered. BCC will also provide free hand-dipped ice cream for attendees.

Officials add that student fees and lunch account payments for the 2018-2019 school year may be made with cash, check or credit card at Buckeye Career Center during the orientation or anytime in the treasurer’s office. Payments can also be made online using PayForIt.net, but they note payments will not appear on the website until mid-August.

Students who choose to pay for their lunch daily can still do so at the cashier station in the cafeteria. Breakfast and lunch prices remain the same from the previous school year. Student breakfast will be $2.25 and lunch $3.25.

Incoming high school juniors are also reminded that they can still apply to attend Buckeye Career Center during the 2018-2019 school year by visiting the district’s website.

The first day of school for incoming juniors is Monday, August 20th and returning students begin Tuesday, August 21st. Both days begin at 7:50 a.m. and end at 2:25 p.m. Students will be treated to the annual “Buckeye Palooza, an event that features inflatables, food, and games for new students to interact with their classmates and instructors.
