Canton Parks and Recreation Hosts Annual Youth Fishing Derby

(Canton, Ohio) – Canton Parks and Recreation will host its annual Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 22nd from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Westbrook Park Pond located at 12th St. NW and Harrison Ave. NW.

You’re invited to a morning of fishing and prizes with the annual youth fishing derby. Parents are not permitted to fish; however, they can help younger children with baiting and taking fish off of hooks. All fish must be alive to be measured and eligible for prizes. Only Catfish will be measured and eligible for prizes. There are three age divisions for prizes: 4-8, 9-12, 13-15

This event is free and open to the public and is provided in collaboration with the Stark County Federation of Conservation Clubs and Berkley Fishing Team of Ohio.

Preregister online at www.cantonparksandrec.com by Friday, May 21st. Walk up registration is permitted on the day of the event although preregistration is strongly encouraged. Registration can be completed at https://cantonparksandrec.recdesk.com/Community/Program for this free event.
