(Uniontown, Ohio) – A Stark County community votes to delay moving forward with another school resource officer.
At a recent Uniontown City Council meeting, members voted to delay hiring a second School Resource Officer for the Lake Local School District this time.
The move comes when area school districts seem to be adding more SRO’s following a rash of suicides and violence among the county’s young people last year.
Officials in favor of the delay noted a need for more information on how the position will be paid for. Several individuals explained they believe the time is now. However, the decision was tabled until after the September 17th meeting.
