On Wednesday, Governor DeWine addressed the success of the Imagination Library, a program where qualifying families receive free books monthly in the mail for their children. With the combined efforts of First Lady, Fran DeWine and Dolly Parton (who started Imagination Library), more children are getting books to help grow and stimulate their minds!
Impact of the Imagination Library on Children
Gov. DeWine talks about the impact of enrollment in the Imagination Library on children’s brain development and education readiness:
“We know that a child’s brain is 80 percent developed by the time they turn three years of age. So, these first years of development are so very important. Enrollment in the Imagination Library improves Kindergarten readiness and family literacy habits. And, no matter where you live in Ohio, your child is eligible.”
