Starting in May, Special Needs Living magazine will be launching to deliver their free magazines to families all over the Akron/Canton area, with a focus on sharing powerful stories of special needs’ families within the community. Special Needs Living is one of the first of its kind in this area! The goal of the magazine is to “celebrate the amazing people within our local special needs community”.
“I’ve been really looking forward to the opportunity to introduce this magazine to this incredible audience for some time now,” says founder Rick Miller. “I’m excited to be a part of such a meaningful platform that is all about celebrating, educating, and connecting people across our local community.”
Currently Searching for Nominations
Special Needs Living is currently searching for nominations of wonderful individuals with special needs who are willing to share their story for the magazine! They would be featured in the magazine to share their story and connect with the community.

Businesses in Support of the Special Needs Community
The magazine will also highlight some amazing businesses in the area in support of the special needs community. For example, supporter Gentlebrook in Hartville, is “a not-for-profit organization that provides a variety of programs and services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, seniors, and community members”. They’re one of the many incredible supporters of the magazine doing good for the community!
Events for the Special Needs Community at No Charge
Special Needs Living also plans to put some events together throughout the year for the community to come enjoy, for free!
“I’m going to be putting together some events throughout the year for the special needs community as well. I want everyone to be able to come out to these events for free,” says Rick. “It gives us a chance to get together, connect, and celebrate!”
