On Saturday, December 16 at 10:00 AM, tweens and teens ages eight and up are invited to Dover Public Library to learn how to make a variety of creative holiday ornaments.
All materials will be provided by the Library. Registration is not required but appreciated. Interested patrons can call the Library at 330-343-6123 for more information or to register.
At the event, young participants will learn how to create a variety of ornaments like snow-filled bulbs, felt stockings, and decoupage shapes.
“We’re very excited for this event,” says Teen Librarian Liz Strauss. “It is a wonderful opportunity for teens to get creative and make some one-of-a-kind ornaments and gifts for their friends and family.”
This event is part of the new Teen Saturdays series at Dover Public Library, sponsored by the 21st Century Afterschool Learning Program and Dover High School. The series will continue through April 2018 and will feature more crafts, a Teen author visit, and games.
“We hope that our Teen Saturday programs will engage area tweens and teens in creative learning activities outside the classroom,” adds Dover High School Assistant Principal Gina Franks. “This creative Ornament Workshop will be an excellent start.”
For more information on this series and other programs at Dover Public Library, patrons can visit them at 525 N. Walnut Street in Dover or online at www.doverlibrary.org.
