Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced recently that the state’s Pandemic EBT plan has been approved by the US Department of Agriculture.
Officials noted the Pandemic EBT program was a line time within the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020. DeWine indicated that families will receive around $300 to purchase healthy and nutritious foods for children. It is expected that benefits will be mailed directly to students and families are not required to complete any additional applications to be eligible. Benefits reportedly amount to more than $250 million.
