Funds Available for Job-Seeking Individuals

With so many employment opportunities available, it is a great time for those seeking employment-or seeking different employment-to make a move.

In some instances, there may be costs associated with new employment, and in that situation, TCJFS may be able to help.

Tuscarawas County JFS has funding to help those who may need supplies for a new job, up-front costs for pre-employment testing, payment for license fees, short-term training costs, etc.  Those costs which could have been deterring you previously should not deter you from moving forward now.

TCJFS can assist with the purchase of tools for mechanics, beauty supplies for beauticians, uniforms or required attire.  Eligible individuals may receive $500 worth of equipment per 12-month period for these items.  These funds are for those who are newly employed or already employed, and working at least 20 hours per week.

Pre-employment drug tests or physicals can also be funded through the PRC program to help obtain employment.  The costs for a state license, a board certification, a commercial driver’s license, or obtaining a GED are also funded.  Short-term occupational training and supplies- including driver’s education training (books, manuals, and tuition expenses)- are covered.  These costs cannot exceed $3,000 per 12-month period.  The client must successfully complete the training and obtain employment, or be subject to repayment of all costs.  These funds do assist with newly employed persons who obtain employment of at least 20 hours per week.

If you are interested in any of the above services, or have any questions, please call 330-308-7738.  Let TCJFS help you get the job you want and need.
