The children’s department at Dover Public Library will be celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday with a book display of books about Dr. King. Along with Dr. King’s birthday, they will declare the week of Jan.18-23 Be Kind Week. There will be handouts of paper mazes, puzzles, and coloring sheets. A book display around the back of the department will also include books from other leaders who desired peace and kindness in our world. “We are inviting all children to stop in and trace their hand on a piece of colorful scrapbook paper,” said Jennifer Gardner the children’s department manager. Ms. Gardner added, “We will take each handprint and display them all together on a canvas that will be hung in the children’s department titled Love comes in all colors.”
The children’s department has continued its Storytimes on Facebook Live Wednesdays at 10 am and Saturdays at 10 am. The stories are now being read by staff from all departments of the library sharing their favorite children’s book. Like the Dover Public Library Facebook page and get acquainted with the staff. Also, join in Live Art Class on Facebook every third Thursday of the month at 3 pm with Miss Robyn.
