The summer break is coming to an end, and it’s that time of the year when we bid farewell to the lazy days and welcome the hustle and bustle of the school season. As parents, we want nothing more than to ensure our children have a smooth and secure start to the upcoming academic year. Apart from the usual checklist of school supplies and new outfits, let’s take a moment to focus on two vital aspects – talking to our kids about the dangers of vaping and prioritizing their health by getting a physical and staying up-to-date on vaccinations.

The Vaping Talk: Looking Out for Our Kids’ Well-being

Okay, let’s tackle the topic of vaping. It’s no secret that our kids might come across this trendy thing during their school days. But fret not! We can be their best allies in dealing with it. Start by arming yourself with some knowledge about vaping, so you’re ready to answer any questions they throw your way.

The important part is having an open, non-judgmental chat with our kids about the risks involved. Let them know that vaping can be harmful to their health, affecting their lungs, heart, and overall well-being. We want our kids to feel confident in making smart choices, even when facing peer pressure. So, let’s encourage them to prioritize their health above anything else.

Remember, this talk is not about scolding or being harsh; it’s about showing them that we care and want the best for them. When we have these heart-to-heart conversations, we build trust and strengthen our bond with our kids.

These are all the topics you should discuss with your kids before school starts!

Putting Health First: A Healthy Start to the School Year

Now, let’s focus on keeping our kids healthy and happy throughout the school year. One essential step is scheduling a thorough physical examination. It’s like a little health check-up to ensure everything’s A-okay!

Physicals are not just a school requirement; they’re a fantastic way to catch any potential health concerns early on. Plus, they give our kids’ doctors a chance to offer personalized advice on eating well, staying active, and staying on top of their game!

But that’s not all – vaccinations play a superhero role in protecting our kids from preventable diseases. They’re like little shields that keep our children and their buddies safe from nasty bugs. When our kids are up-to-date on vaccinations, they contribute to making the whole school community healthier!

So, here’s the good news! To take care of your child’s health needs, you can head over to the Tuscarawas County Health Department. They’re like a team of health superheroes, ready to give your kids the care they deserve.

Schedule that physical examination to keep an eye on their well-being, and don’t forget about vaccinations to protect them and their friends from pesky bugs. With a little help from the Tuscarawas County Health Department, we can ensure our kids have a healthy and fantastic start to the school year.
