How women cope with stress

There are many ways to describe the differences between men and women, one the of funniest is men are like waffles and women are like spaghetti. There is even a book out about it. Truly though, most men and women process and communicate things differently. Stress and mental health are no different. Read on to learn more about what women are most stressed about, how they know when they are struggling, and what they do to cope.

According to a study done by the American Psychological Association, women are more likely to report higher levels of unhealthy stress than men, and stress continues to rise.

What is causing stress?

  • Money
  • Work
  • Economy

How does a woman know when they are stressed?

  • Feel fatigued
  • Feeling nervous or anxious
  • Overwhelmed
  • Lack of interest or motivation
  • Depressed or sad feelings
  • Headaches
  • Changes in sleeping habits

How do they de-stress?

  • Listen to music
  • Spend time with friends or family
  • Shop

Women in this study report they are more acutely aware than men of the impact that stress and mental health can have on their physical body, but they are no more likely to be successful when they try to accomplish healthy living goals.
