In 2019, 608 children under the age of twelve were killed in the U.S. due to motor vehicle crashes. Within that number 38% of them weren’t buckled up! On top of that statistic, an additional 91,000+ children were injured in crashes. (CDC, Child Passenger Safety: Get the Facts)
Properly buckling up your child isn’t a joke; it’s serious business. Car seats help to eliminate risk of injuries to your child by anywhere from 71-82% compared to just using a seatbelt. It’s time to gauge whether your child is ready for wearing a seatbelt or staying in the car seat awhile longer.
