Local library welcomes children to participate in haunted hunt

(Dover, Ohio) –  It’s that time of the year when the ghosts and goblins come out to play.

The Dover Public Library’s Children Department is welcoming all the local ghosts and goblins to join in a day of monster hunting in their first-ever Haunted Hunt on Saturday, October 17th from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.  The hunt will begin at the library in the children’s department, where participants will receive a bag of goodies (goody bags for 12 years old and under),  a map to instruct them which way to go and a clue to start the hunt.
Over 20 participating downtown businesses will have a monster cut out hidden in their storefront window or business.  Hunters are asked to find each monster and are encouraged to take a picture with the monster and send it to the library to be used later in a FaceBook and website post(pictures are not required to participate).
“The library will also be set up downtown to hand out extra goodies to our monster-hunting friends and some of our business friends may also have a treat for the kids” added Jennifer Gardner Children’s Department Manager. The library staff will be dressed in costume and they encourage everyone to get into the spirit and dress up also. “We will have a list of the local businesses participating in the day’s fun activity at the library and posted on FaceBook and on our web page,” said Gardner
The event will run from 10:00 am-2:00 pm and will follow the Health Department guidelines.  Contact the library with any questions or to register for the day’s event at 330-343-6123.
