Local superintendent accepts new position

(Lexington Township, Ohio) – The leader of Marlington Local Schools is leaving the district to take on a new role.

Joseph Knoll, a 1984 Marlington graduate, has served as the Superintendent of Marlington Local Schools since 2012. As part of his contract with Marlington, he earned a base salary of $139,774 annually with a 2.5% increase to the base pay every year.

He has accepted the position as Superintendent of Canfield Local Schools in Mahoning County. He was named as one of six finalists for the position earlier this month. Marlington has approximately 2,000 students enrolled in the district and Canfield serves a similar number of students at roughly 2,500.

Knoll will replace current Canfield interim Superintendent, John Tullio.
