New Towne Mall Invites Families to Sensitive Santa Event

Taking children to meet Santa is a longstanding Christmas tradition for many families, but what if the child has a hard time in loud, crowded environments?

New Towne Mall has launched the Sensitive Santa event just for those kids.

The event is for families with children with all spectrums of special needs and official notes the controlled atmosphere creates a welcoming and enjoyable experience.

General Manager Jason Jordan explained simple adjustments have been made to reduce sensory stimuli such as muted lights, music and waiting to visit Santa at activity tables rather than standing in line. He noted this helps to create a calming environment.

The free event will take place prior to store openings on Sunday, December 3rd from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Santa photo packages will also be available for purchase.

It will be held outside of the former JCPenney location near center court. Those attending are asked to use the mall entrance C between Marshalls and JoAnn Fabrics.

Event organizers do ask that each family or group RSVP in advance by reserving one ticket. You can do so by visiting newtownemall.com
