Perry Local Schools Ask voters to renew an Emergency Levy this Primary

On Tuesday, May 8th voters in the Perry Local School District will be asked to renew a five-year, 11.7-mill emergency levy.

If approved, the levy would generate a total revenue for the district of about $8,041,569. The levy would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $358.31 annually.

Officials explained the levy is needed to maintain the current level of operations and continue to provide students with a quality education. District leaders add that if the levy fails, budget cuts would be required and could affect programs and staff.

The levy has been renewed four times since 1996.
