Plain Township Trustee Sponsors Scholarships for GlenOak High School Seniors

Plain Township Trustee Scott Haw and his wife, Laura, are moving forward with scholarship opportunities for graduating GlenOak High School Seniors.

Haws explained this is part of an ongoing commitment to support future community leadership developed while again helping GlenOak graduates pursue their life ambition and dreams.

“I made a promise upon being elected to office in 2010 as Plain Township Trustee that I would look to help those that are in need and are motivated to work hard in bettering themselves,” explained Haws. “The scholarships we have given over the last 8 years are a means of doing for others, just as others have so graciously done for me along the way. This initiative is about service above self and helping others prepare themselves for their future. Laura and I are extremely blessed and we are committed to making our community a better and stronger place.”

The scholarship is open to all graduating GlenOak High School Seniors, with applications available through the GlenOak High School Counselors’ offices and the Plain Local Schools Foundation.

Criteria for awards include:

• Acceptance at an accredited college or university.
• Two letters of recommendation (One (1) Plain Local School District Staff member & One (1) outside the Plain Local School District Staff)

The award will be presented at the annual May GlenOak Senior Awards Night.
