Scarf Project Continues to spread Warmth!

Have you ever been overwhelmed by the goodness of the hearts of others? Toni Kaltenbaugh, founder & coordinator of the Scarf Project stated “I am in total awe of all that has been gifted to the Scarf Project as we wrap up our sixth year.”

of all that has been gifted to the Scarf Project as we wrap up our sixth year.”

This year the Tuscarawas County Scarf Project continued to grow. We were able to distribute approximately 1,400 NEW & WARM scarves, plus hats and gloves/mittens on November 12, 2021. The scarves, hats, and mittens were available in Tuscarawas, Guernsey, and Stark counties.  They were free to anyone in need.

The Scarf Project began 6 years ago after Toni Kaltenbaugh posted a video on of ladies out west sharing scarves with others anonymously. She asked if anyone wanted to help. The rest is history, as they say.  All items received are distributed yearly on the 2nd Friday in November!

Can you help?

Toni is asking for your assistance once again. The Scarf Project has set a goal of 2000 SCARVES for 2022!  That means:

  • More yarn is needed
  • More individuals to knit, crochet, and sew NEW & WARM scarves
  • Additional locations are needed in highly visible, high traffic areas, with places to hang scarves
  • Permission from business owners/managers are needed
  • Two monitors are needed for each site to hang the scarves on the 2nd Friday of each November.
