The Wilderness Center Announces Fundraiser

The Wilderness Center announces its first farm-to-table dinner and fundraiser, Forest, Farm & Fork.

Event organizers note the unique dining experience is designed to bring nature lovers, food enthusiasts, and farmers together to support the goal of protecting the environment through sustainable agriculture, nature education, resource conservation and community engagement.

The event will include on-farm culinary exploration of the flavors of Ohio with dinner in a restored 19th-century barn, just steps away from where the food was grown. Live jazz will also be at the event.

The evening’s creations will be prepared by elite, local chef, Parker Bosley and the staff of Cleveland’s Fresh Fork Market. Chef Bosley is currently chef-in-residence for Fresh Fork Market where he works with local produce at the peak of freshness to craft unique dishes, packed with fresh ingredients and divine flavors. Parker’s New American Bistro was twice recognized by Gourmet Magazine as one of America’s 50 best.

It’s all happening Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Wholesome Valley Farms in Wilmot, Ohio. Wholesome Valley Farm is located just around the corner from the Center, nestled in the rolling hills of northeast Ohio and is known for its sustainable, organic produce and pasture-raised livestock. Trevor Clatterbuck is the founder of Fresh Fork Market and owner of Wholesome Valley Farm. Clatterbuck sources from more than 90 local farms for a large selection of organic and sustainable produce, meats, cheeses and more.

“We are proud to be collaborating with our neighboring farm not only to provide a marvelous evening of fresh and extraordinary cuisine, but also to demonstrate our common environmental principles that TWC shares with Wholesome Valley Farm and so many other Ohio food producers who strive to provide food and fiber for our community in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner,” added officials in a press release.

Event organizers add that the attire for Forest, Farm & Fork is very flexible and guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and footwear to suit the weather of the day.

Accommodations for special dietary needs, food allergies, vegetarian options can be arranged but need to be stated when reservations are made. Last minute accommodations cannot be guaranteed.

Reservations are $75 per person for Wilderness Center members and $100 per person for non-members. Registrations can be made at https://www.wildernesscenter.org/give/forestfarmfork.
