Knowing that your children are safe in the front yard, back seat, or behind the wheel is a relief to parents everywhere.
It takes more than a little effort to obtain your driver’s license. You must learn the rules of the road, prove that you understand them during a test, and adhere to those laws once you’re licensed and behind the wheel. Even still, a traffic accident can be fatal. As such, the goal of Safe Communities of Tuscarawas County is to increase traffic awareness safety.
Safe Communities in Action
The coalition works with area law enforcement, schools, businesses, and local governments to reduce traffic injuries. Additionally, they:
- Increase public awareness for seatbelt usage
- Raise awareness for impaired or distracted driving
- Spread motorcycle awareness and safety
- Hold quarterly meetings to discuss creating safer communities
- Conduct data reviews to assess traffic patterns and fatal reports
A safer community and increased traffic safety benefits everyone, especially children and teens.
If you’d like to join the Safe Communities Coalition, check out their future 2021 meetings:
