(Gnadenhutten, Ohio) – An Indian Valley Spanish teacher showcases her passion and dedication to her students in a heartfelt message.
Jessica Daniels has been a teacher for Indian Valley Local Schools since 2006. She told Newsymom that she never could have imagined something like the COVID-19 pandemic. “As we’ve navigated through COVID-19 together through remote learning, I’ve posted daily mindful moments to help them deal with the stress and worry they are confronting. With yesterday’s announcement, I felt it super important to address the many feelings they might be having, also to validate those feelings as ok.”
Daniels added that while teaching Spanish to her students is a priority, she’s felt compelled to do even more, “I’ve felt called the last couple of years to teach them more about managing stress, anxiety, and the many emotions that come with adolescence.”
Daniels, overwhelmed with emotion and empathy for her students, decided to reach out to them personally with a truly inspiring message following the announcement on April 20th that Ohio schools will remain closed through the end of the school year. “A lot of kids have shared with me how difficult this new way of learning is, and they need to continue to hear that they are loved, they are doing it right, and that they are supported,” she added.
