TuscBDD Celebrates Disability Awareness Month With Activities For All! – March is Disability Awareness Month and TuscBDD is celebrating in some fun and exciting ways. They’ve got events that you and your family can enjoy, even tonight! Learn more about TuscBDD and their upcoming events right here on Newsymom!
Here at Newsymom, we’re doing everything possible to support moms from all walks of life. This is why we love working with the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities (TuscBDD)! For those who don’t know, TuscBDD provides an incredible service to aid moms in Tuscarawas County– by providing education, tools, and resources to children and adults with developmental disabilities.
How TuscBDD Began
Children and adults with developmental disabilities had little opportunities for education or training for jobs before the 1950s. The school systems and local businesses excluded them! Starlight School was created in 1955 from parents’ and local citizens’ hard work and determination to educate twelve individuals.
Today, TuscBDD (which evolved from Starlight School) is a publicly funded county governmental entity offering a variety of programs for over 600 eligible individuals!
