‘Twas the Night Before School…

‘Twas the night before school and all through the house…

Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.
The backpacks are hung by the door with care
In hopes that the bus driver will soon be there.
The children were nestled snug in their beds,
While nightmares of homework danced in their heads.
Mamma’s in her kerchief having a night cap,
No more sleeping till noon and then taking a nap!
For 14 days I’ve heard too much Fortnite clatter,
You may think I’m a bad mom but that doesn’t matter.
On Samuel! On Owen! On Dakota as well!
I wouldn’t want you to be late so don’t miss the bell!
You may hear me exclaim as they drive out of sight,
HAPPY SCHOOL DAY TO ALL, I know, I’m not right!
