Cases of the Norovirus are on the rise in Northeast Ohio.
Director of Nursing with the Tuscarawas County Health Department, Amy Kaser, says although they are not related, the Norovirus does share some symptoms with the flu.
Kaser adds the Norovirus is highly contagious.
It’s important that once your child is diagnosed or you suspect he/she may be suffering from the Norovirus, you contact the daycare and/or school to see how they would like you to proceed.
She says unfortunately, a virus cannot be cured so a T.L.C. is the best remedy for kids diagnosed with the Norovirus.
Also, Kaser encourages frequent hand washing and the disinfecting of surfaces as a way to prevent the spread of the virus.
