YMCA to host nutritional program for children

(Dover, Ohio) – The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

According to officials, the goal of the program is to support the YMCA‘s ability to meet the nutritional needs of children in its care and throughout the community through meals and snacks that meet the program’s requirements. Additionally, the YMCA will also continue to work to promote the understanding of nutrition through developing positive food attitudes and eating behaviors.

The YMCA operates two sites including the main YMCA campus at 600 Monroe Street in Dover. There, officials provide meals to children enrolled in YMCA childcare.

Additionally, the organization oversees the program at Park Christian Church at 236 Miller Avenue in Dennison. The program there is open to all children through the age of 18 and those 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Meals are available from 3:00 p.m. t0 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program also allows for carry-out meals to be available from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
